The Ghost Tour industry has been underserved, and has not had the praise, recognition, and attention it deserves, so I created this blog to give the industry some overdue accolades and attention. I started this venture several years ago with the goal to travel to haunted or mysterious places and write about them, but then…..life happened. Amidst a global pandemic, I had a surprise baby much later in life than I had ever imagined, so I got away from writing about my travels for awhile.  I have always had an interest in the macabre. I have always loved to write. And I have always had a deep appreciation for travel. I first served as a tour guide for ghost tours in New York, NY (customized for my students when I worked in higher ed) and then ghost tours & food tours in Raleigh, NC.  I also researched, mapped, scripted, and led a ghost tour in Chapel Hill, NC.  Currently I am leading seasonal ghost tours in northeast Ohio that I have been researching and developing for years.

Additionally, I formerly wrote a column published on thedailymeal.com called Eating on the Fly.  My love for writing, my ability to travel easily, and my interest in spooky locations has really been my inspiration in creating Phantom Memorandum. As a flight attendant, I travel often and have the unique opportunity to visit cool places. Often I land late in the evening, and the only tours still running are ghost tours. Voila! My interest was sparked, and that helped lead me down the path to this unique industry.

I also love macabre museums, haunted hotels and other dark, creepy venues. (Think abandoned prisons, former insane asylums, old cemeteries, haunted movie theaters, etc.)

Recently I have also started freelance writing and consulting for small town local tour companies. I do the research, mapping, scripting, and provide “stage” notes. I will work with you to tailor your tour to fit your needs and logistics, and to determine how to best customize it to operate smoothly in your town for your potential customers and audience. Also, I have created a guide to help you design your own local ghost tour, and I am available to research, script, and map it out for you.
